Honolulu Museum of Art
Beautiful art in a Beautiful building. Located in downtown Honolulu, close to the State Capitol. Fine art from all over the world. One room is devoted to Hawaiian art. They have a fine cafe for lunch (reservations suggested).
Don Quijote
This is a big "general store" with several locations on the Island. The one in downtown Honolulu is a few blocks from Ala Moana Center. A great place to buy Hawaiian products of all kinds and souviners at prices that beat the ABC stores
. Plus it is a well-stocked grocery store with a fantastic offering of bento boxes.
![]() Hike to the top of Diamond Head A great way to view the city. See the description on my Hikes page. |
![]() Of course, we cannot forget Waikiki Beach. Yes, it is very crowded, but it is the stereotype of Hawaii. In spite of the crowds it is a beautiful place and an easy place to get into the water. All the tourist amenities you could imagine (food, shops, etc.) are right at hand |
